Career Day & Club Meetings
Career Day is held each spring on the university campus. Our meetings consist of dinner and a well-known guest speaker.
 |
|
Coach Gene Stallings, Coach Eddie Robinson and Randy Dempsey.
|
|
Past
keynote speakers have included Colin Powell, Roger Staubach, Eddie
Robinson and Gene Stallings. After the speaker the athletes are able to attend break-out sessions.
The break-out sessions are where athletes can
learn more about various career paths with presentations and Q&A
periods on a variety of job areas. Our Career Day is not a job
fair -- it's a career path education center. For example, athletes
can learn about careers in law enforcement, finance, business management,
insurance, engineering, banking, sales, medical practice, etc.
The sessions will expose students to the type
of work performed in these careers, and will help them understand
the requirements for gaining an initial job and advancement along
a career path. Our goal is to expose them to a wide range of opportunities
that are available after their athletic careers are over.
We also spend time addressing the transition
from college athletics to the world of business. If you are
a member interested in participating or leading a break-out session,
contact us.
